Scottish Ballet's A Streetcar Named Desire

In summer 2015, Scottish Ballet will be taking this award winning production to venues across the UK and USA.

about production

Oliver nominated and winner of Critics’ Circle (Best Dance Production) and South Bank (Best Classical Choreography) awards, Scottish Ballet's A Streetcar Named Desire is back and touring in venues accross the UK and USA this summer.

This vibrant take on the classic tale, A Streetcar Named Desire was born through collaboration with theatre and film director Nancy Meckler and international choreographer Annabelle Lopez Ochoa is a powerful infusion of drama and dance.

Trying to leave a troubled past behind her, fading southern belle Blanche DuBois moves into her sister Stella’s New Orleans apartment. Stella’s brutish husband Stanley sees that Blanche is not what she appears to be, and sets out to destroy her...

“The result is everything you could want of Tennessee Williams - florid, poetic, and poisonously beautiful - with just the right amount of New Orleans seasoning to the action."
